Three world-class soloists -- Trumpeter Joe Burgstaller, french hornist David Jolley, and trombonist Haim Avitsur -- are revolutionizing the concept of the brass band, delivering a sound that has the sensitivity and nuance of a string quartet. Together as the New York Brass Arts Trio, they perform classical and jazz masterworks from across the eras, specially adapted for their unique instruments. Each member of the trio teaches at a major American musical institution and has an impressive list of solo credentials: Burgstaller was a featured trumpeter with the legendary Canadian Brass, has performed with more than 40 orchestras, and has recording solo CDs, three Top-10 Billboard hits, and a Top-50 JazzRadio hit. Jolley has performed with major orchestras and string quartets (Guarnieri, Orion and American), and is a founding member of the Grammy-winning Orpheus Chamber Orchestra. Avitsur is the only trombonist named a 2005 and 2007 Emerging Artist by Symphony Magazine and has premiered over 80 compositions. Learn More

The seats given were very good seats as I wasn't sure where we would be sitting.
The casting was spot on. On a couple of songs the singer had gotten off key and was very noticeable. One of the first things I did think was that the sound guys or the mic system was not checked. Some of the voices did not come across and we were close to stage. Over all the play was cute, the singers were good but the drummer was WAY too loud. It was very annoying. Maybe he drowned out the singers.
I will be back to see more.
