Performing the hits -- like "Conjunction Junction," "Just a Bill" and "Three Is a Magic Number" -- from the Emmy-winning cartoon series from the '70s and '80s, Schoolhouse Rock Live! is a musical revue that continues with the tradition of making learning fun. The original show's catchy, educational tunes and whimsical animation earned it many loyal fans, and this fun Childsplay production captures the spirit of the program for those who fondly remember it, as well as for a new generation. The show follows Tom, a teacher who's nervous about his first day of school. When he turns on the television to try and relax, various characters emerge from the TV and show him how to win over his students with songs about history, grammar, math, science and politics. What a treat! Billy Collins' poetry is amazing - funny, insightful, and altogether universally true. And Aimee Mann is equally as brilliant -- her voice is rich, her songs are deep, and her banter is witty and naturally very funny. She was accompanied by her longtime producer Paul Bryan, who adds the rich texture and rockin' bass to the music. A really stunning evening -- don't miss Aimee, Paul & Billy!
