view more less of this reviewWe boarded the yacht at Pier 59 (NOT 61 as ticket may indicate) and were greeted by the Captain Mary Pat and her 2 assistants. There were complimentary peanuts and unlimited non alcoholic beverages. I had wonderful Mango Tea. They gave us a poker chip for an alcoholic beverage, however I didn't use mine. We cruised around Battery Park up the East RIver to just below the Empite State Building. Turned around and cruised back to Pier 59. There were nice illustrated books to reference the buildings we passed by. The 2 bathrooms were impeccable and nicely decorated. The crew was extremely nice and the yacht was beautiful. Perfect for an hour and a half cruise. A very friendly lady named Dorothy greeted us and gave us our boarding passes.

the boat was very clean, small & intimate, well kept, & comfortable.
the staff was exceptional. everyone was friendly, and helpful. they really took pride in their boat and went the extra mile to make everyone happy.
for example there were flowers arrangements out on every table, the captain gave everyone a quick history of sites around the river and i was celebrating a birthday along with two other people; one of the crew members came out and played happy birthday on his saxophone!
great time!
star this review starred report as inappropriateThis cruise was AWESOME! Although there were other people onboard with us, we felt like we had the boat to ourselves! The ride was thrilling, the crew was super-nice and our "complimentary beverage" was refreshing (see pic)! We both had locally brewed NYC beers in the bow with the wind in our hair!
I strongly recommend this adventure. GREAT

Built in 1994 in the Scarano Boat Building of Albany, New York, the Schooner Adirondack is an 80-foot wooden replica of a classic turn-of-the-century pilot schooner.
Heading south from Chelsea Piers and down the Hudson River to Battery Park, the Schooner Adirondack passes by Ellis Island and sails out to the Statue of Liberty. Wind and time permitting, she will head toward Governor's Island, breeze by the Financial District and the Brooklyn Bridge on the East River.
The 1920s-style motor yacht "Manhattan," also built by Scarano Boat Building, is brand new to the New York City harbor as of spring 2006. This 80-foot, wood-trimmed, Gilded Era commuter yacht runs full circumnavigations of Manhattan, dinner cruises and sunset cruises, and is available for private charter.
