report as inappropriateThis event was an excellent way to wind down on a Friday (or Saturday) afternoon. I took my out-of- town parents before we had an evening at the theater. We had an excellent crew of Tom, Chad and Kaye and they were the best! They were always ready to serve us another beverage and just generally fun people and conversationalists. I highly reccommend this event for out of towners or locals.
report as inappropriateYou'll feel as though you're sailing on a friend's boat - rather than a commercial excursion. The trip is well worth the money & the experience is truly unique.
report as inappropriateA fantastic afternoon on the water - great friendly crew, beautiful vessel, great views of the city and other landmarks.Thoroughly recommended if you want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city for a few hours and want to veg out on the water!
report as inappropriateGreat way to see the city and get some good pictures. Its a nice event to do with a group of friends or family. Not for those who have trouble with motion sickness because it moves quite a lot. Bring dramamine

Description
Experience New York like you never have on this 2 hour sail aboard the Adirondack, a wooden 80-foot pilot schooner. Within five minutes of leaving the dock, you'll forget the mayhem and noise of Manhattan street life, and you'll feel the relaxing breeze of New York Harbor. You'll take in the famous Manhattan skyline as it was meant to be seen, from the water - plus spectacular views of Ellis Island, the Statue of Liberty and the Brooklyn Bridge. You'll experience the following on your 2-hour sail:
- Heading south from Chelsea Piers and down the Hudson River to Battery Park, the schooners pass by Ellis Island and sail out to the Statue of Liberty.
- Wind and time permitting, they will head toward Governors Island, breeze by the Financial District and tease her bow under the Brooklyn Bridge on the East River.
- Complimentary beer, soda, and water will be provided. Champagne and other wines are available for purchase.
Please note:
A few rounds will be served but it is not an unlimited booze-cruise. The aim is to create an elegant, relaxing, peaceful, and safe experience for all guests.

The 1920s-style motor yacht "Manhattan," also built by Scarano Boat Building, is brand new to the New York City harbor as of spring 2006. This 80-foot, wood-trimmed, Gilded Era commuter yacht runs full circumnavigations of Manhattan, dinner cruises and sunset cruises, and is available for private charter.
