In one of the latest works by Pulitzer Prize-winning David Mamet (American Buffalo, Glengarry Glen Ross), two attorneys are charged with defending a white man accused of raping an African-American woman. In the face of unraveling evidence, the lawyers' own uncomfortable beliefs about race rise to the surface. Director John Dillon tackles Mamet's rat-a-tat language and sharp jabs in this confrontational comedy that skewers modern-day "polite" society. Race premiered on Broadway in 2009 starring James Spader and David Alan Grier. Learn More

I enjoyed "The Crucible" very much. I attended with a large group and it gave us much to discuss. One person thought the modern clothing distracted from the play. They had a hard time reconciling the clothing with the language. I personally thought it was great! It demonstrated how some things change and some things stay the same. We may speak differently today but we still dole out injustice on many levels including religious zealotry.
The acting in this production was wonderful. Of particular note were, Paul Gourdeau, Bekah Medford, Joshua Miller, Julia Rudy and Max Flick.
This was much better than I expected!!
