Jazz legend Duke Ellington enjoyed a career in music that spanned more than 50 years. In that time, "The Duke" built up a body of work featuring some of the most celebrated songs of all time, including "Take the 'A' Train," "It Don't Mean a Thing (If It Ain't Got That Swing)" and "In a Sentimental Mood." Winner of two Tony Awards, Sophisticated Ladies is a stylish retrospective of Ellington's musical legacy that perfectly recreates his big band sound. Featuring all of his most famous numbers, this irresistible song-and-dance spectacular features the Atlanta Lyric Orchestra and some of the area's most talented performers. Learn More

Have seen productions at the Fox for the last 15yrs. This rivaled them all. VERY funny, super acting, just a delight! The entire cast was exceptional! We are going to subscribe to Atl. Lyical Theatre instead of the series at the Fox from now on!!!!!!
About the Ticket Supplier: Atlanta Lyric Theatre
Atlanta Lyric Theatre, Atlanta's only local professional musical theater company, was formed in 1980 by Tedi and Robert Langdon and Sally Knap as the Southeastern Savoyards, a repertory theatre company dedicated to presenting the works of Gilbert and Sullivan. The company's first production, Gilbert & Sullivan's The Mikado, was performed at Emory University in December 1980. Later, the company's productions were moved to the Marist School, the 14th Street Playhouse, Center Stage Theater, and then to the Robert Ferst Center for the Arts on the campus of Georgia Tech where the company's main stage performances were produced for seventeen seasons.
