Comedy in Drag: From Shakespeare to Chaplin -- Silent Film Series
Charlie Chaplin, Laurel and Hardy, and Charley Chase are among the silent film greats bringing the laughs in this program of early cinema inspired by Shakespeare and the comedic tradition of cross-dressing. Composer Ben Model will keep things lively with an improvised score accompaniment, followed by a Q&A with film historian Bruce Lawton, who will provide historical context for the films. The program kicks off with the 1912 version of the Bard's mistaken-identity comedy As You Like It, and continues exploring the cross-dressing theme in silent shorts like Charley Chase's Bromo and Juliet.

parking was in a lot by the front door, the entrance After the library and park. We went into the library entrance and parked on the curb in back of the theater. The back doors were open, but there was only space for about 9 cars. I recommend the parking lot, also accessible if you continue on your right, past the library and the park.star this tip starred
