Loved the performance!!! The production brought me full circle in my musical needs. My compliments to Dennis Spears, Julius Collins III, Dennis Oglesby Jr, Sanford Moore, Jay Young, and Steve Jennings. I look forward to many more musical ventures in your connection.Written on Feb 13 2012

The music was fabulous; the musicians and band made for a superb Valentine's date! The roses, chocolates and cookies afterward that the Capri provided were a very lovely touch. Many thanks for a wonderful time!Written on Feb 14 2012

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, the Capri Theater’s “Legends” series offers a musical conversation about love, featuring four outstanding Twin Cities performers: Sanford Moore, Dennis Spears, Julius Collins and Dennis Oglesby.
Sanford Moore is best known as the founder, director and arranger for the award-winning vocal jazz ensemble Moore By Four. Dennis Spears is Artistic Director of the “Legends” series and starred as Nat King Cole in I Wish You Love, which had two sold-out runs at the Penumbra Theatre in addition to runs in Washington, D.C., and Hartford, Conn. Julius Collins III recently starred with Thomasina Petrus in Hot Chocolate, a hit holiday show at Park Square Theater, as well as appearing with Spears in Always & Forever at the Illusion Theater. The Rev. Dennis Oglesby is Senior Pastor of Park Avenue Church and wowed Capri audiences last spring in a surprise appearance in last year’s “Legends” concert by his wife, Greta Oglesby. “Any one of these performers could hold a show on his own,” says Capri Theater Director Karl Reichert. “Getting all four of them together is an amazing event.”
Spears promises a range of genres and musical moods, from pop to jazz and blues, and perhaps a poem or two, in an inclusive mix. “A lot of men don’t know how to be romantic. These guys’ voices can be the answer to that,” he says. “It’s a sweet, warm Valentine with something for everybody.”
