A fisherman falls in love with a woman who is a selkie - part human and part seal. She must make a choice between betrayal and self-sacrifice: past or future, heart or home in The Ballad of the Pale Fisherman. Written and directed by local playwright Isabel Nelson, Pale Fisherman is inspired by Irish and Scottish folk tales. This physical theater performance uses song and movement to create the fisherman, storytellers and the sea creatures. A hit at the 2010 Minneapolis Fringe Festival, the production was selected winner of Outstanding Production, Outstanding Direction (Isabel Nelson) and Outstanding Female Performance (Anna Reichert) on FringeFamous.com.

"Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale ..." America's most iconic sit-com from the 1960s comes to the stage reincarnated as a fun family musical. Written by the original TV show's creator, Sherwood Schwartz, and his son Lloyd Schwartz, with the score written by Hope Juber and two-time Grammy winner Laurence Juber, all the show's beloved characters seem to have leaped straight from the TV screen to the big stage, bringing their hilarious adventures along with them. The skipper and his hapless first mate, Gilligan; millionaire Thurston Howell and his wife, Lovey; film starlet Ginger Grant; farm girl Mary Ann Summers; and the professor battle hurricanes, quicksand and even an alien with their usual fierce determination. Will they finally make it off the island? One thing is for sure: Audiences will have a great time finding out the answer. Learn More

Such a beautiful and moving show! Performed with only a concertina accompanist, this cast of highly talented performers brings the myth of the selkie to life.

"Ballad of the Pale Fisherman" is a rare piece of art that lovers of theater, dancing, story telling, improvization and mime will ever have the opportunity to experience. This wonderful folktale is presented by a company of actors who use their voices and bodies to represent all sound cues and suggestion of possible scenery, props, and various characters. Other than lighting, the rest is left to the audience's imagination. And it certainly does not take much to be pulled into the folktale, just like fish into a net! This is a brilliant art form, and I highly recommend it to people of all ages!

"The Ballad of the Pale Fisherman" and "Red Resurrected" were great successes during the Minnesota Fringe Festivals. Look for future show by this talented company, which are sure to peak your curiosity and your imagination!
