Pistol Pete

Quiet Cannon (in Montebello, CA) is a terrible venue for a concert. It was not a concert but a high school dance. Walked out after 30 mins.

60's - 70's music lover!

Excellent as always. Rick Ortiz is a great host. Opening band was not great and not of the type of music Wild child plays. Most of the people appeared uninterested.

Event Highlights

  • "This is as close as you'll get to the real thing." --Ray Manzarek of The Doors
  • "The way they play the music is uncanny. I saw Wild Child and they know Jim's moves and raps as well as he did. The drummer did something on 'Break on Through' which was so interesting, I stole it back!" --John Densmore of The Doors

More Details About This Event:

Wild Child is the Los Angeles based act that has sold out all the major southern California national act clubs and theaters on an ongoing consistent basis for years. As well as playing many major venues, Fairs and Festivals across the USA. Wild Child has toured internationally as well, including eight European tours, India, Mexico and Canada. Wild Childs success is not only due to the musical accuracy of the band but lead singer Dave Brock whose; looks, vocals and stage antics recaptures the essence of Jim Morrison live on stage. The musicians of the band were hand picked from the best professionals that the Los Angeles area has to offer. Here are a few things others have had to say about Wild Child.

Jim Ladd with KLOS Radio/L.A. said, "these guys are excellent, not a cartoon version of The Doors" but a very loving, respectful, accurate and well done tribute to The Doors." The Daily Bulletin said, "Brock, who bears more than a passing resemblance, evoked the Morrison persona without seeming forced. Better still, his range and vocal delivery were uncannily close." The L.A. Times said, "Wild Child a winner! What's amazing is that Brock sings like Morrison, enough to imperil the snowflake analogy about no two sets of vocal chords being able to produce the exact same tone." The L.A. Weekly said, "From every angle, Dave Brock is Jim Morrison: his looks, his cloths, his act and most amazing of all is his voice!" Danny Sugerman (co-author of "No One Here Gets Out Alive" and one time manager of the Doors) said, "Wild Child is the best Doors tribute that I have ever seen and I have seen them all. Dave Brock comes closest to capturing the look and spirit of Jim Morrison and the band ain't bad either."
