Under the leadership of dancer and Artistic Director Thérèse Keegan, Updraft Inc. has long been a pioneering force in professional aerial arts performance. Description
Commissioned by the Kennedy Center, Affectations explores the human body as a metaphor for ht e cultural systems and structures that exist among our society. This evening-length work is a dynamic multi-media performance experience aimed at reflecting the human condition and offering opportunities for audience interaction and community engagement. Performers include Stephen Clapp, Laura Schandelmeier, and Ilana Silverstein and the piece is created in partnership with installation artist Lorne Covington and James Harkins.
