Raised in Cherry Hill, award-winning violinist Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg returns to her New Jersey home for a special Russian-themed concert co-starring the Moscow State Symphony Orchestra. Dubbed a "fiercely original, deeply emotive violinist" by The Washington Post, Salerno-Sonnenberg is famed for her fearlessness and versatility, not to mention her virtuosity. She'll be joined by conductor Pavel Kogen and the MSSO for Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto in D Minor. The acclaimed Russian orchestra will also perform the overture to Dvorak's Carnival and Shostakovich's triumphant Symphony No. 5 in D Minor, which premiered to an ecstatic reception in Leningrad in 1937. Jewel is an excellent artist (singer/song writer). The theartre was nice. Very annoying sitting in the balcony of this theatre as the back light was very disruptive to the viewing of concert on stage. The crowd/audience was too dead and blah. Overall, the concert was good as far as Jewel goes, but I would not sit in the balcony of this theatre again, but definitely would not of paid more than I did Friday night for this concert. I did not think it was worth over $20 per ticket.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to voice my opinion.
Have a great day!
See acclaimed American singer-songwriter-poet Jewel on her Greatest Hits Tour! Performing solo-acoustic on this tour, Jewel’s hits include “Who Will Save Your Soul,” “You Were Meant For Me,” “Foolish Games,” “Hands,” “Standing Still,” “Break Me,” “Intuition,” “Stronger Woman,” and “Satisfied.”
Since achieving international stardom 18 years ago, the Alaskan beauty has emerged as a charismatic live performer and a respected songwriter with 10 studio albums to her credit, including her 1995 debut Pieces of You, which dominated the charts with “Who Will Save Your Soul,” “You Were Meant For Me,” and “Foolish Games.”
Her next two albums—1998’s Spirit and 2001’s This Way—both went platinum while introducing fans to hits like “Jupiter,” “Hands,” “Standing Still,” and “Break Me.” Jewel switched directions in 2003 with 0304, an album that fused elements of electronic and folk to create a delightfully quirky mix epitomized by the contrast of dance beats and accordion on the single “Intuition.”
Jewel topped the Billboard country album chart in 2008 with her first country album, Perfectly Clear, which is represented on this collection by the Top 15 single “Stronger Woman.” Her second country album, 2010’s Sweet and Wild, included the Grammy® nominated-single “Satisfied.”
