The Senegal St. Joseph Gospel Choir Raise Their Voices
This globe-trotting ensemble has proven that praise knows no borders. With a history that spans more than 60 years, this Dakar, Senegal-based choir infuses American gospel spirituals with the styles and traditions of pan-African music. The 15-member chorus and four traditional Senegalese drummers perform standards like "Amazing Grace" and "The Storm Is Passing Over," and prove that praise is international by singing in each of their home country's four national languages. The choir, now led by music director Ambroise N'Diong, was founded in 1950 by UNESCO Ambassador Artist for Peace Julien Jouga as a means of creating harmony between Senegal's Muslim and Catholic cultures.

There was a parking garage around the corner with plenty of parking spaces for $8 for the evening. Be sure to smuggle your own water in, since the venue will charge you $4 for a bottle of water. When did overcharging to this extent become acceptable?star this tip starred
