Raised in Cherry Hill, award-winning violinist Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg returns to her New Jersey home for a special Russian-themed concert co-starring the Moscow State Symphony Orchestra. Dubbed a "fiercely original, deeply emotive violinist" by The Washington Post, Salerno-Sonnenberg is famed for her fearlessness and versatility, not to mention her virtuosity. She'll be joined by conductor Pavel Kogen and the MSSO for Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto in D Minor. The acclaimed Russian orchestra will also perform the overture to Dvorak's Carnival and Shostakovich's triumphant Symphony No. 5 in D Minor, which premiered to an ecstatic reception in Leningrad in 1937.
