Written on Feb 26 2012We really loved this show. The music, the cast, the funny yet very touching true story, hooked us. The entire cast was extremely talented with beautiful voices, and Sheba Mason was absolutely adorable. A totally unique experience.
Written on Feb 20 2012Very funny show! Great ensemble cast! I especially loved the actress who played Ginger's mother...she has a phenomenal, pure, singing voice.
Written on Feb 20 2012The show was fantastic! The music was tuneful, the book hilarious, and the cast is terrific. There isn't a weak link in the cast, but I must mention that, in a tour de force role for the actor, Bobby Underwood does such a good impression of Jackie Mason that if you close your eyes, you might forget that it isn't the real guy. Although Underwood is much younger than his character, he seems like such an old pro that it's as if he had been born middle-aged. Underwood is also a gifted singer, and he does a remarkable job with the drama of the last scene, bringing out Jackie's inner turmoil. Underwood is sure to be a shining star for a long time, and I encourage you to go see him play Jackie Mason now.
Written on Feb 20 2012I went to this show with 3 friends - we all LOVED it. We particularly loved Gary Lizardo - remarkable tenor voice. The mixed formats - actors relating to each other as in a typical Musical, and to the audience as in Stand-Up Comedy, really works well. It's a captivating story with great music, and the entire cast was amazing. Bari Hymen was hilarious. Great music!
