Description
Cunard is planning another “Royal Rendezvous” for its three queens in New York Harbor, complete with a Grucci fireworks show. The new Queen Elizabeth cruise ship will make her maiden visit to New York City on Jan. 13, meeting up with the Queen Victoria and Queen Mary 2 near the Statue of Liberty!
In 2008, Cunard arranged its first Royal Rendezvous at the same location. Then, the Queen Elizabeth 2 was making one of her last voyages and joined up with the QM2 and Queen Victoria in the harbor a very cold January night.
Guests on this historic voyage will be treated to elegant stationary displays and a standard open bar (beer, wine and champagne).
Highlights of this 2-hour cruise include:
- Up close views of 3 Cunard's 'Queens' - The Queen Elizabeth, Queen Elizabeth 2 and the Queen Mary 2 against the backdrop of the Statue of Liberty and the New York City Skyline and FIREWORKS!
- Battery Park, South Street Seaport, and the Financial District
- Governor's Island and Ellis Island
- Parts of Brooklyn and Queens and the New York City skyline
- The Williamsburg, Manhattan, and Brooklyn Bridges of the East River
About the Ticket Supplier: Classic Harbor Line LLC
Built in 1994 in the Scarano Boat Building of Albany, New York, the Schooner Adirondack is an 80-foot wooden replica of a classic turn-of-the-century pilot schooner.
Heading south from Chelsea Piers and down the Hudson River to Battery Park, the Schooner Adirondack passes by Ellis Island and sails out to the Statue of Liberty. Wind and time permitting, she will head toward Governor's Island, breeze by the Financial District and the Brooklyn Bridge on the East River.
The 1920s-style motor yacht "Manhattan," also built by Scarano Boat Building, is brand new to the New York City harbor as of spring 2006. This 80-foot, wood-trimmed, Gilded Era commuter yacht runs full circumnavigations of Manhattan, dinner cruises and sunset cruises, and is available for private charter.
