Lemony Snicket's The Composer is Dead is a murder mystery that takes place at the orchestra. The composer is dead -- and we must discover who did the wicked deed. The performance is intended to introduce young people to instruments in the orchestra through the guise of a humorous and thrilling mystery, keeping both children and adults immersed in the action. Identical twin brothers Peter and Will Anderson, natives of Bethesda, MD, are two of the most promising up and coming saxophonists. During High School, they were members of the Clifford Brown/Stan Getz Fellowship, Jazz Aspen Sessions, and Downbeat Magazine awards. Now graduates of Juilliard, they have performed with Wynton Marsalis, Frank Wess, James Moody, at Blue Note, Birdland, Carnegie Hall, and have lead their quintet at Jazz @ Lincoln Center, Blues Alley, and East-Coast Jazz Festival. In 2009, they participated in ‘Betty Carter’s Jazz Ahead’ and ‘Young Artists at Ravinia’, showcasing their original compositions. As sidemen, Peter and Will play with the Village Vanguard Orchestra, Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, and Jimmy Heath Big Band.
