they say no food allowed on boat but many had backpacks full of snacks & beverages. Food at Oktoberfest is not that good...suggest you eat at the restaurant at Bear Mountain Inn on the property for the same money you'll spend on tasteless, cold Oktoberfest food.

The weather was Sunny & warm 80 degrees. I wore jeans, sneakers, cap sleeve shirt and a sweatshirt (for the boat ride).

The ride up and down the Hudson on an late summer day was pleasant--the scenery was beautiful and the captain offered a lot of fun facts about different sites on the river and on land (visible from the river). Bear Mountain State Park is a lovely...continued

This is a nice way to spend a day on a weekend. The boat ride was pleasant. Weather - gorgeous (that helped a lot). Octoberfest was a fine event, too. Good beer, good food, nice music. The food was all fresh, fun to try, and we did not find it...continued

This trip is what you make of it. We had a great time, but were totally prepared with snacks, wine, sweaters and cash. It's a great getaway with some pretty amazing scenery.

Description

The boat ride takes approximately 2.5 hours. You will then have 3 hours at Bear Mountain to enjoy at your leisure. You will need to be back on board by 3:00pm for the ride back.

Please be advised, there is a steep hillside trail leading to the Oktoberfest.

No outside food or beverages are allowed on the boat. There is a concession stand on board the vessel where you can purchase food and drinks.
