Paquito is a consummate musician - amazingly talented. Joining him was the fabulous Anat Cohen, whose energy and talent on the sax and clarinet were unsurpassed. What a treat.Written on Mar 16 2009
The second half was far less compelling with the Brazilian songstress, the over-the-hill Leni Andrade, who grooved, but was quite dated. I suppose she has a loyal following, but this part was much less exciting than the music before the intermission.
Fabulous venue. Great seats too.

One of the best concerts I have attended this year. Anat Cohen was the real surprise. Thank you Goldstar for making this concert affordable!Written on Mar 16 2009

It was a perfect evening. If I had one suggestion, I would have made the second half as fabulous as the first half. Paquito did not play very much the second half.Written on Mar 16 2009
I would definitely go again with no hesitation.

Description
Multi-reedman Paquito D’Rivera and his guests, including vocalist Leny Andrade, "a performer whose voice seems to contain the body and soul of Brazil” (The New York Times) and clarinetist Anat Cohen, explore Brazilian sambas, choros, and bossa nova in all their joy and subtle rhythmic intensity, evoking, as D’Rivera once put it, “the feeling of being happy and sad at the same time.”
