I've given this 4 stars because I had a really good time - food, drink, company and lively music make for a fun night. The warm up band was fun and BB King's offers good food (My wife and I both had salads with salmon added- very good) and drink at a high but not outrageous price. Buckwheat Zydeco had a second show that night which meant they played for just one hour. I felt they dialed in the show and were just trying to get through a long night.
If I can; I will try to avoid BB King's for the early when there is a late show as well.

the show was great but they only played an hour. I thought the band was just taking a break. Everyone in the crowd was just getting warmed up when they stopped. had I payed full-price for a ticket, I would have been really upset.

The performer was fine; however, BB King's overscheduled for the evening and cut the performance, which was scheduled to begin at 10:30 and began shortly afterwards, by 11:30. LESS THAN AN HOUR OF MUSIC! This is unacceptable , even in a nightclub atmosphere.

Note: there was an 8 o'clock performance, for the same price, which delivered significantly more music. This is deceptive and unfair.

Description

American musical legend Stanley "Buckwheat" Dural Jr. - along with his band, Buckwheat Zydeco, one of the greatest party bands in America - is the preeminent ambassador of Louisiana zydeco music. 2009 marked Buckwheat Zydeco's 30th anniversary, and Buckwheat celebrated with the release of his Grammy Award-winning CD (and Alligator Records debut), Lay Your Burden Down. This Grammy Award was the band's first, although it had previously been nominated five times in three different categories.

Over the course of 30 years, Buckwheat Zydeco has gigged with everyone from Eric Clapton (with whom Buckwheat also recorded) and U2 to The Boston Pops. The band has performed at just about every major music festival in the world and even performed at the closing ceremonies of the 1996 Summer Olympics to a worldwide audience of three billion people. Buckwheat even performed for President Clinton twice, celebrating both of his inaugurations. The band has appeared on The Late Show With David Letterman, CNN, The Today Show, MTV, NBC News, CBS Morning News, and many other TV programs. Buckwheat's music has also been featured in films ranging from The Water Boy and The Big Easy to Fletch Lives and Hard Target.

During the '90s and '00s, Buckwheat recorded for his own Tomorrow Recordings label and maintained an extensive touring schedule. Along with his remarkably talented band, he brings his music to fans all over the world.
