Quotes & Highlights
“Buckwheat leads one of the best party bands in America; he can pump out zydeco two-beats or shift into rolling 12-bar blues, steaming all the way.” —The New York Times
Music with a view – Each NYC Rockin’ the River Cruise is a scenic tour and live music event in the most intimate and friendly concert setting you’ve ever experienced. Listening to your favorite artists while sailing past the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, the Brooklyn Bridge and the world’s greatest NYC skyline — you’ve never seen music like this before.
Buckwheat hails from Louisiana, where he was inspired early on by jazz music and the Creole culture of his community. His records have incorporated a wide spectrum of musical styles and the resulting sound is an upbeat, rocking, natural and authentic blend of modern zydeco and southern soul.
