Description
Enjoy an evening of stand up comedy featuring Irish and Italian American comedians, starring Mary Dimino, who has appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, and HBO's Chris Rock Show. Other comedians include Bernadette Pauley (seen on Comics Unleashed and Comedy Central's Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn), James Oakes (from Sirius Satellite Radio), and two guest comics from Dublin, Ireland: Colin Dempsey and Mel Hamill.
Mary Dimino grew up in Queens, New York, going to the same church as John Gotti. "Every Sunday the closing prayer was: Blessed be God forever and may we keep our mouths shut!". Mary is one of the most like-able comedians on the New York City comedy circuit. "I have a face that looks like I'm gonna bake you fresh cookies, but when I open my mouth, it sounds like I'm gonna break your knee caps." Mary talks about life with her Italian-American parents, how Dad was a baker in Little Italy, and "Nanna" from Sicily! Mary has recently appeared in "Tony and Tina's Wedding", and PBS' documentary "Fat".
"Cannoli and Cabbage: Irish / Italian / Catholic Comedy" showcases some of New York's funniest Irish and Italian comedians talking about growing up Catholic, crazy relatives from off-the-boat, and alot of eating and drinking. You do not have to be Irish, or Italian to enjoy this great night of comedy. If you enjoy HBO' Sopranos or Tony and Tina's Wedding, you will love Cannoli and Cabbage!"
