I just barely made the Champagne Brunch aboard the Historic Schooner Shearwater. I didn't realize how far it was from the subway. That was a nice walk. My directions that I had downloaded had said that it would take 7 minutes to walk to the pier from the subway. It was more like an half and hour as you had to walk to and through the World Financial building. Go down the steps and keep walking in the direction of the boat. Once aboard the boat there were no seats to be found, it just so happen I was going to the park after the cruise so I brought my folding chair. I was able to take a load off my feet and not stand for the whole duration. The brunch was very good but you were only allowed one complimentary champagne after that you were charged $8.00. The small lox finger sandwiches went very quickly. There were an assortment of fruit platters, small finger sandwiches, bagels, chips and dips, an assortment of olives. You were able to drink as much beverages as you wanted except for the Champagne. The bathroom was down below on the Historic Schooner Shearwater. The Historic Schooner Shearwater took you out to the water and the Schooner Shearwater sat on the water not to far from the Statue of Liberty and we ate and it turned around and it sat on the water once again and headed back to deboard at 1:00 p.m. The service was very good. The girls on board that served everyone were very friendly. I would do it again. There wasn't any music aboard the Shearwater.

Try to get on the boat first! Once you find a good seat, the rest is up to the crew. After a quick speech from the captain, we left from the West side and went around Manhattan to just past the Brooklyn bridge where we turned around and headed towards Liberty Island. Once there, we sat for a while and enjoyed the scenery and weather. Food was laid out before we left the pier and drinks were brought to passengers through-out the cruise. We headed back to the pier at about 20 minutes till the hour and we arrived right on-time.

After a brief meeting about safety with the crew brunch is offered.
There is a selection of gourmet sandwiches, bagels, pastry, hummus, chips, fruits. There was plenty to go around and many leftovers. There was also coffee, tea, champagne, mimosa's and some other beverages available. The boat travels south towards statue of liberty for 1 hour and then turns around for the 1 hour journey home. Blankets are provided on cold days and there is the cabin of the boat to also retreat to in the event of inclement weather. It was cold the day we sailed-which was unfortunate for us. In nice weather-I think this cruise would be more delightful.

We brought friends in from out of town - beautiful way to spend a beautiful day. Not sure I'd go for full-price, but we sat near the bar-cooler and the snacks.
For the ladies, they tell you not to wear heels or skirts and they mean it -- it's windy and wavy on the water. The boat is also full if they're lucky, which means sitting is at a premium or camp style. We lounged indian-style on the deck and it was just our style.
No tickets, just give your name as you walk up the gang plank. Tips appreciated for the captain & crew at the end.

Great event! With the goldstar price, and excellent value. As people said, be prepared it is much cooler on the water and the sun is much stronger, use sunscreen! We had about 40 people on our sail, which was a bit packed... we ended up sitting on the floor, but the sail is so nice it hardly took away from the experience. Food is wonderful including the prosecco. Thankfully they take it up a notch instead of serving cheap champagne for their mimosas!

Great value for the money. The crew was very nice, polite and accomodating. They were well stocked with food and drinks. I would arrive early and stand on line so as to be the first to enter.

A good time. Brunch included unlimited drinks and pretty weak coffee. The spread had mini sandwiches, fruit, bagels, hummus and pastries. More than enough food and drink for all. The ship is nice and of course the views are great.

Fantastic 2 hour cruise around New York Harbor aboard a very beautiful boat. Boarded quickly and on time. Plentiful bagles, finger sandwiches, pastries, fruit, etc., as well as free-flowing champagne, mimosas and beer. Attentive staff added to the relaxing atmosphere. Wear sensible shoes (or go barefoot, as I did), and find a spot to sit and let your cares go.

Took a full family of visitors ages 25 to 75 on the Shearwater for brunch two weeks ago. Charming but unobtrusive crew, very good food, lots of very drinkable wine. Everyone had a great time. There's no tour guide spiel, just two very mellow hours on the harbor--I would highly recommend it!
After 25 years of visiting annual visits to NYC, my mom said that this was the one thing she'd really like to do again.

The brunch cruise was good. Plenty of food and great for friends from out of town and tourist. Only set back was that seating upstairs was limited and there was a 1 mimosa limit per person. There were plenty of beer and wine as an alternative.

Beautiful Ship, Great crew and food.
The only fault I found with the trip was laying dead in the water for almost 1/2 hour waiting for the Wind to pick up.

The cruise was really nice. The food was good - salads, hummus, mini sandwiches, fruit, danishes, that were accompanied by mimosas or other beverages. The ride was quite smooth, although I wish the seats had backs. We went into the harbor, saw the Statue of Liberty, sailed under some of the city's bridges. I recommend this for anyone wanting a different, relaxing way to see some of the city's sights.
