First, the harbor cruise on the Manhattan was delightful. Unlike more touristy attractions the yacht (built in 2005) is a pleasure to behold. The cabin is air-conditioned and there was more than enough open-deck space forward once we got underway. Sit back, enjoy a drink and take in the view. No matter how many times you have cruised the harbor, its always exciting.

Next up, the High Line tour. Of course you don't need a guide to climb the stairs to the High Line park but after our guide gave us the history of the park and Chelsea, we climbed up at 16th street and it was truly breathtaking! Our guide made us a "wait" a bit before we went up and this increased the anticipation, which, in the end, made it more enjoyable.

This was a most enjoyable tour. The boat ride was great, and the crew friendly and efficient. We loved the tour, too, and the High Line was quite a surprise, I didn't even know it existed though I live in NY.

About the Ticket Supplier: Classic Harbor Line LLC

Built in 1994 in the Scarano Boat Building of Albany, New York, the Schooner Adirondack is an 80-foot wooden replica of a classic turn-of-the-century pilot schooner.

Heading south from Chelsea Piers and down the Hudson River to Battery Park, the Schooner Adirondack passes by Ellis Island and sails out to the Statue of Liberty. Wind and time permitting, she will head toward Governor's Island, breeze by the Financial District and the Brooklyn Bridge on the East River.

The 1920s-style motor yacht "Manhattan," also built by Scarano Boat Building, is brand new to the New York City harbor as of spring 2006. This 80-foot, wood-trimmed, Gilded Era commuter yacht runs full circumnavigations of Manhattan, dinner cruises and sunset cruises, and is available for private charter.
