The crew was fantastic, and the sail was gorgeous. We are New Yorkers and loved the fact that it was not touristy at all. I would highly recommend that everyone try this out at least once. I will absolutely do it again, and the complimentary drinks is a nice touch too.

What a an awesome time!! The staff was fun and attentative. The boat was small but cozy. They served us several rounds of champagne, wine or beer while we sailed. I have lived in Manhattan for nearly two years now and this was one of the most fun things I have done while here. I would definitely recommend this cruise!!

Great trip, friendly staff. The only thing that would have been nice would be a bit of dialog on what the different sites are that we passed.

More Details About This Event:

Climb aboard the schooner Imagine...and you'll quickly forget the mayhem and noise of Manhattan street life as the colors before you paint a picture of the most famous city in the world.

Some of the night's beautifully lit highlights will include:
  • Chelsea Piers, a famous stretch of docks on the Hudson
  • Battery Park, a green haven resting on the southern tip of Manhattan
  • Ellis Island, the immigrant doorway to America from 1892 to 1954
  • The Statue of Liberty, bearing the torch of America's freedom

Complimentary champagne, wine, beer and soda will be provided.

The schooner will be shutting off its engines and setting sail for as much of the trip as possible.

About Classic Harbor Line LLC:

Built in 1994 in the Scarano Boat Building of Albany, New York, the Schooner Adirondack is an 80-foot wooden replica of a classic turn-of-the-century pilot schooner.

Heading south from Chelsea Piers and down the Hudson River to Battery Park, the Schooner Adirondack passes by Ellis Island and sails out to the Statue of Liberty. Wind and time permitting, she will head toward Governor's Island, breeze by the Financial District and the Brooklyn Bridge on the East River.

The 1920s-style motor yacht "Manhattan," also built by Scarano Boat Building, is brand new to the New York City harbor as of spring 2006. This 80-foot, wood-trimmed, Gilded Era commuter yacht runs full circumnavigations of Manhattan, dinner cruises and sunset cruises, and is available for private charter.
