It was a great day on the water, good company and good food. I would recommend this tour to visitors and non visitors. I'm glad I took a New York minute to enjoy the "marvelous mosiac" I call home. Kudos to your gracious staff and elegant accomodations.

Description

Get in on the action with front row seats at the first ever New York Classic Week races! Support the sport of sailing in New York Harbor by enjoying a luxurious brunch buffet on the water as you cruise alongside all the classic sailing yachts fighting for position.

From the refined back deck of the Manhattan's observatory or from her outdoor teak decks on the mahogany-trimmed bow, get an up-close-and-personal view of these giant sailing vessels as they race across the harbor and celebrate the tradition of classic sailing.

Although elegant and extremely comfortable, the Manhattan will have no trouble staying tight on the trail of the speeding sailing vessels, as she can cruise up to 22 knots.

This trip also features great views of the New York City skyline, Ellis Island, and the Statue of Liberty.

The open brunch includes a plentiful buffet spread of fresh baked bagels, muffins, pastries, seasonal fruit, glazed ham, spring mix salad, stuffed quiches, waffle station with all the fixings, turkey sausage, spicy Bloody Marys, Mimosas, juices, coffee and tea.

New York Classic Week
Classic yacht racing is experiencing a renaissance led in part by grand new regattas in the Mediterranean. New York Harbor is experiencing a renaissance led in part by Dennis Conner’s North Cove. To share the beauty of classic sailing with more people, all classic yachts are encouraged to come to Manhattan.

This regatta is run by sailors for sailors. The spirit of the regatta is to build camaraderie among sailors who enjoy the spirit of classic racing. It is also to thank the owners and sailors who support classic sailing and preserve these historic vessels. At the same time, an eye will be kept on the seawall in the hope of inspiring new people to develop a passion for sailing and classic yachting.

About the Ticket Supplier: Classic Harbor Line LLC

Built in 1994 in the Scarano Boat Building of Albany, New York, the Schooner Adirondack is an 80-foot wooden replica of a classic turn-of-the-century pilot schooner.

Heading south from Chelsea Piers and down the Hudson River to Battery Park, the Schooner Adirondack passes by Ellis Island and sails out to the Statue of Liberty. Wind and time permitting, she will head toward Governor's Island, breeze by the Financial District and the Brooklyn Bridge on the East River.

The 1920s-style motor yacht "Manhattan," also built by Scarano Boat Building, is brand new to the New York City harbor as of spring 2006. This 80-foot, wood-trimmed, Gilded Era commuter yacht runs full circumnavigations of Manhattan, dinner cruises and sunset cruises, and is available for private charter.
