Great venue, band was on fire, but rain/lightening cut things short.

can't wait for the next show.

So they ship us out to an island off of Manhattan, it starts raining right when the headlining band is getting into the swing of things and they make us stand in the pouring rain and flashing lightning while we wait for ferries to slowly remove the crowd. Worst concert experience ever and I want my money back.

My 2nd time at the island. Last years location was nicer for DSO & Tea Leaf Green. Still it's a unique venue. Ticket will call was a breeze. The weather was not the best rain cut short the headliner. Great vue of the skyline

great show, great music, but what was the deal with ending the show early and kicking everyone out?? also was it safe to have everyone exit because of thunder standing right next to a lightening pole?!? that wasent very smart....

The show was very good although short by DSO standards. It got cut short by rain, and that was understandable. The venue was very scenic and really nice looking. Especially the view of the skyline across the water.
However, the staff although usually friendly seemed a bit unprepared for the large number of people in attendance. Everything took so much longer then what seemed necessary. Lines for the food and the bar moved extremely slowly, as did the lines to simply get into the venue. It did get a a bit annoying after a while. The final straw was the truly violent and intimidating way we were handled by the staff when trying to get onto the pier and board the ferry, in the rain after the show. I realize the staff had a lot of people trying all at once to get through the gate, but it should have been set up to accommodate this a little better. On top of that, the guys actually working this gate were overly aggressive and shoving and threatening people. I was with 3 women trying to get through and it was beyond scary. I'm not sure that i would go back to Governors Island for an event that involved a lot of people. The ugly experience at the end, was not worth the fun that i had.
