Unique experience in New York. It was our second trip, since we enjoyed the first one so much. Great captain.

It was a great experience... I keep impressing my husband with my good finds on Goldstar:) The crew of the boat was amazing, the lady captain very pleasant and hospitable. We arrived an hour early and she agreed to take us on her boat instead of waiting for the sister-boat Imagine. That slight change came in so handy because right after we were done with the sail, it started raining. I would recommend this to anyone, especially if purchased on Goldstar.

I took my fiance on this cruise for his birthday. It was our first time on a shooner and we really enjoyed ourselves! The crew was very friendly and cheerful. Checking in was easier than I expected and the ship left on time, something else I hadn't really expected. We were offered complimentary drinks. I'd definitely take the trip again.

We had a great time on the cruise. Free drinks, beautiful weather, and a great crew. We did not make it all the way to the statue of libery because the current and winds were not on our side, but it was still a great time! I wish it could have been longer that 2 hours!!

More Information About Day Sail on the Schooner Imagine

Description

Climb aboard the Schooner Imagine and sail the harbors of the most famous island in the world. Trade Manhattan's noisy streets and busy sidewalks for a fresh breeze and a breathtaking view.

The Imagine is one of the fastest sailing vessels in New York Harbor, and is the current holder of course record in the Great Chesapeake Bay Schooner race. Imagine is also a remarkably comfortable and gentle vessel, so you’ll be able to sit back and relax while taking in the sights.

On this two-hour sail, you'll see:

  • The majestic downtown New York skyline
  • The Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island
  • Governors Island and the historic Brooklyn Bridge on the East River (wind permitting)

The trip includes complimentary beer, soda, and water. Food is not served during the sail, but please feel free to bring your own picnic.

About the Ticket Supplier: Classic Harbor Line LLC

Built in 1994 in the Scarano Boat Building of Albany, New York, the Schooner Adirondack is an 80-foot wooden replica of a classic turn-of-the-century pilot schooner.

Heading south from Chelsea Piers and down the Hudson River to Battery Park, the Schooner Adirondack passes by Ellis Island and sails out to the Statue of Liberty. Wind and time permitting, she will head toward Governor's Island, breeze by the Financial District and the Brooklyn Bridge on the East River.

The 1920s-style motor yacht "Manhattan," also built by Scarano Boat Building, is brand new to the New York City harbor as of spring 2006. This 80-foot, wood-trimmed, Gilded Era commuter yacht runs full circumnavigations of Manhattan, dinner cruises and sunset cruises, and is available for private charter.
