It was a great way to be a tourist and see the Statue of Liberty and the cityscape of NYC without having to fight the crowds. It was very relaxing and a perfect way to spend the 85+ degree day. There is a brewery a couple doors down so we grabbed some chicken fingers and fries as our "picnic". The only thing I regret was not bringing a hat and camera!

Fair warining: I saw a couple of people on the trip before us that looked queezy when they unboarded. We were fine but I made sure we did not have empty stomachs.

Very nice relaxing trip. Went with my wife on a random Tuesday and there were only 10 people on the cruise. This is not a guided tour; the staff doesnt really say much but they are all friendly and open to answer any questions. Not recommended for tourists- more of just a "chillin" getaway but very nice if the weather is good and very relaxing. Bring sunglasses.

GO, GO, GO, GO!!!

If you're even slightly considering this, GO!!! I've lived in NYC for a while now and I can honestly say that this was one of the best things I've ever done in the city. I've done the whole Ellis Island Ferry and Statue of Liberty thing and this tour blows them out of the water (no pun intended ;->). You don't have to deal with the mass number of people on the Ferry...the boat is beautiful and spacious with enough room to roam around throughout the tour. And the crew encourages you to make yourself at home. For the price, you absolutely can not go wrong. So, stop hesitating...scroll down to the purchase button and GO! You will not regret it.

More Details About This Event:

You'll experience the following on your 2 hour sail aboard the Adirondack:
  • Heading south from Chelsea Piers and down the Hudson River to Battery Park, Schooner Adirondack passes by Ellis Island and sails out to the Statue of Liberty.
  • Wind and time permitting, she will head toward Governors Island, breeze by the Financial District and tease her bow under the Brooklyn Bridge on the East River.
  • Complimentary beer, soda, and water will be provided. (Note: the staff will serve a few rounds, but it is not an unlimited booze-cruise. They aim to create an elegant, relaxing, peaceful, and safe experience for all of the guests.)
The captain will be shutting off the engines and setting sail for as much of the trip as possible.

About Classic Harbor Line LLC:

Built in 1994 in the Scarano Boat Building of Albany, New York, the Schooner Adirondack is an 80-foot wooden replica of a classic turn-of-the-century pilot schooner.
