Vocalist Prentiss McNeil of The Drifters and Bruce "Big Daddy" Wayne from Wilson Pickett's Midnight Movers head up this high-energy salute to the best R&B music of the classic soul era. Get ready to groove to hits from greats like "The Godfather" and "Queen" of Soul -- James Brown and Aretha Franklin -- not to mention Motown and Stax artists galore. From Smokey Robinson and Stevie Wonder to the Jackson 5 and Sam & Dave, you'll hear the best tunes from the genre's most popular artists performed live on stage. McNeil performed for close to 30 years with doo-wop group The Drifters, who were known for classics like "Save the Last Dance for Me," "Some Kind of Wonderful," "Under the Boardwalk" and "Up on the Roof." The band was terrific (I stayed for both sets) and I have already checked out their website to see where they will be performing again. BB Kings wasn't too crowded but some of the patrons gave the wait staff a hard time (but I guess that could happen anywhere or at any time). Grove Buffet will be performing again at BB Kings on New Year's Day for brunch at 1:00 p.m. but I don't think I will be able to get there that early since I will be out until the wee hours of the morning ringing in the New Year at a salsa dance in Harlem.
Thanks for this offer and I look forward to using Goldstar again.
Have a safe and happy holiday!

The Band and Singers were fabulous! I enjoyed their style of the songs that they covered. The Slide show was bittersweet especially when I saw Michael Jackson and his brothers, the Jackson 5. I'm thinking of hiring them for my Gradudation Party.
Paying homage to the R&B, Motown and Soul legends, and founded solely on passion for the music, Groove Buffet formed in early 2005. The band is quickly on the rise and has become one of the best classic R&B/Motown Soul acts in the New York Tri-State area. Groove Buffet captures the true spirit of what the music was all about.
Their music creates an environment where fellowship can thrive, and people come out to each gig for that atmosphere. People want to get up and dance. Groove Buffet has gained praise from R&B, Classic Rock, Motown, and Soul fans alike.
So dig in to the Groove Buffet!
Groove Buffet has an extensive song library from which it crafts each show’s set list, providing an entire night of material featuring the sounds of Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Al Green, Joe Cocker, Van Morrison, Otis Redding, James Brown, Wilson Pickett and many more artists.
