In the late '60s, Cream became one of rock and roll's biggest supergroups due to the raw talent of Jack Bruce, Ginger Baker and Eric Clapton. The band left a lasting impression on music and popular culture with songs like "I'm So Glad," "Strange Brew," "White Room," "Sunshine of Your Love" and hit covers of Howlin' Wolf's "Sitting on Top of the World" and Albert King's "Born Under a Bad Sign." Ginger Baker's son Kofi, Jack Bruce's son Malcolm and guitarist Godfrey Townsend formed Sons of Cream to pay homage to both their fathers and one of the greatest rock trios of all time. The tribute act captures the spirit of the Cream era while each member lays down their distinctive stamp on these classic songs. Learn More

The playlist was good and the musicians were talented, although a bit loose and casual for me. It was interesting to focus on the 'quiet' Beatle. I appreciated that they said that they had reduced the content from prior performances; it could still use more editing. It's clear that Joseph is inspired by having known George.Written on Feb 28 2012

The show was good; musicians were excellent. They each played several instruments. It's nice to listen to good singers who can actually sing. No auto-tune here! The show was also very informative especially if you knew very little about George. B.B. King's was the usual -- overpriced for their food and small and cramped. The tables are on top of each other and too small for the number of people they put on each. I would never pay full-price at this venue for any show. Not worth it.Written on Feb 25 2011

A beautiful evening. The musicians are terrifically high-caliber, and Harrison's songs are lavishly served. Insights into George's life and character are provided by Greene's warm presentation.Written on Feb 24 2010

Description
George Harrison was admired for his commitment to spirituality, which he believed could improve lives and protect the planet. His post-Beatles songs reflect that conviction and are as relevant today as they were 30 years ago. Through music, visuals, and commentary about his journey of self-discovery, these tribute events honor George Harrison, his music, and his principles.
Joshua M. Greene, narrator, is an acclaimed writer and author of the bestselling book Here Comes The Sun: The Spiritual and Musical Journey of George Harrison. Greene is an instructor at Hofstra University and an Emmy Award-nominated filmmaker. After 13 years of yoga study, including one year in India, he became Senior Vice President of Global Affairs at Ruder Finn, an international communications firm, and now lectures at universities nationwide.
Guitarist and vocalist Godfrey Townsend has played with some of the greatest names in rock 'n' roll, including John Entwistle (bassist of The Who), Jack Bruce (bassist and vocalist of Cream), Dave Mason (guitarist and vocalist of Traffic), and Alan Parsons. He is the leader of the Godfrey Townsend Band.
Guitarist and vocalist Tommy Williams has served as musical director and guitarist for Debbie Gibson (including the No. 1 hit "Lost In Your Eyes," three albums, and two world tours). After playing in many local bands, he accepted the opportunity to portray Ringo with the touring company of the Broadway show Beatlemania. He also is a former member of the Beatles tribute band Strawberry Fields, working with them for seven years.
