Description

In 1609, Manhattan was an island covered in trees, small rivers, wild animals & a small Native American population. During that year, the Dutch explorer, Henry Hudson, first navigated through the Narrows into NY Harbor and up the entire Hudson River. This year we celebrate the Quadricentennial of that epic journey. On June 6, a flotilla of hundreds of vessels begins a re-enactment of Hudson's journey.

Grab your thermos and fill it with coffee! Pack your own picnic and snacks for the day and sail with us as we join hundreds of other vessels on the Hudson River! We will have complimentary beer, wine, and champagne for you! So kick back and relax and join us.

From the decks of this 1890 pilot Schooner take in the views of :
* The entire west side of the New York City skyline
* Battery Park and the Financial District
* The majestic Palisades Park: Steep cliffs carved by prehistoric glaciers that make up the east bank of the Hudson River.
* The George Washington and Tappan Zee Bridges as we pass underneath.
* A replica of Henry Hudson's Half Moon (The vessel he first used to to navigate the Hudson) along with hundreds and potentially thousands of other vessels.
So hop aboard this 80 foot Schooner, Adirondack, to take part in this 400 year celebration!

About the Ticket Supplier: Classic Harbor Line LLC
Built in 1994 in the Scarano Boat Building of Albany, New York, the Schooner Adirondack is an 80-foot wooden replica of a classic turn-of-the-century pilot schooner.
Heading south from Chelsea Piers and down the Hudson River to Battery Park, the Schooner Adirondack passes by Ellis Island and sails out to the Statue of Liberty. Wind and time permitting, she will head toward Governor's Island, breeze by the Financial District and the Brooklyn Bridge on the East River.
The 1920s-style motor yacht "Manhattan," also built by Scarano Boat Building, is brand new to the New York City harbor as of spring 2006. This 80-foot, wood-trimmed, Gilded Era commuter yacht runs full circumnavigations of Manhattan, dinner cruises and sunset cruises, and is available for private charter.
