Making the sort of neo-traditionalist country that brings to mind the rowdy glory of David Allan Coe, Jason Boland and his band uprooted from their Oklahoma home and made their splash in Texas. Their blue collar country caught on with locals, and their genuine backroad experiences led to hedonistic tracks like "Drinkin' Song" and "When I'm Stoned." Recording a concert in the spring of 2002, they released Live at Billy Bob's Texas that fall.

Forro in the Dark plays the Highline Ballroom. Founded by four Brazilian natives living in New York, they play a high-energy modern version of forro, the hip-swiveling party music of northeastern Brazil's rural regions. They've recorded alongside artists including David Byrne, Bebel Gilberto and Steve Earle. Brooklyn's Pistolera opens the show. Learn More
