This was Great. Great Music and The Rose Theatre wasn't so large, so there were no bad seats. I liked it. GaryWritten on Jun 01 2010

Description
If you don't know the music of the late great Moacir Santos, you're missing out on one of the originators of Brazilian jazz, a composer who laid the foundation for later Brazilian stars like Antonio Carlos Jobim and Milton Nascimento. Mario Adnet, who collaborated with Santos on his award-winning 2001 double album Ouro Negro, teams up with producer Zé Nogueira and leads an all-star band in playing the music of a towering figure in Latin music. As Wynton Marsalis puts it, "Moacir Santos was nothing less than the Duke Ellington of South America."
In addition to the renowned Ouro Negro band, performers include Ricardo Silveira, Douglas Purviance, Luis Bonilla, Kurt Bacher, and Jeff Scott.
Starting at 7:00pm nightly, join JALC for a pre-concert festival celebrating the culture of Brazil with partners including Grupo Senzala de Capoeira, 1500 Gallery, Samba Laranja, Curacao North Sea Jazz Festival, Curacao Tourism Board, SOB's, Brazilian Vacation Center and Brazil Station.
