Former lead trumpeter for Sting and Paul Simon -- and perhaps the only trumpet player to grace People Magazine's "50 Most Beautiful" list -- Chris Botti returns to the Blue Note, breathing new soul and sizzle into classic jazz and pop with his smooth, seductive sound. His albums When I Fall In Love and To Love Again both hit number one on Billboard's jazz charts.

I don't know if there are still tickets available for Chris Botti since he's only in town a few more nights, but if there are, you should absolutely go.

The Blue Note is a great venue to listen to live jazz. Even if you have to wait in line for 1/2 hr to an hour to ensure great seats, it's worth it when you look up and Chris Botti is playing his trumpet literally 15 feet from you. The band was on fire and the show was very entertaining.

A note about Goldstar: Sometimes I worry about buying discounted tickets online and winding up getting the "discount" seats (kinda how some hotels have the "hotwire.com" rooms that are tiny and crap). No need to worry here. People on either side of you in the cramped tables are all paying full price whilst you are paying half. What a great service!

Chris Botti returns to the Blue Note for his highly-anticipated annual three week run.

Since the release of his 2004 critically acclaimed CD When I Fall In Love, Chris Botti (pronounced boat-tee) has become the largest selling American jazz instrumental artist. His success has crossed over to audiences usually reserved for pop music and his ongoing association with PBS has led to four #1 Jazz Albums, as well as multiple Gold, Platinum & Grammy Awards.

Over the past three decades, he has recorded and performed with the best in music; including Frank Sinatra, Sting, Josh Groban, Michael Buble, Paul Simon, Joni Mitchell, John Mayer, Andrea Bocelli, Joshua Bell and Aerosmith's own Steven Tyler.

Hitting the road for 250 plus days per year, Chris and his incredible band have performed with many of the finest symphonies, at some of the world's most prestigious venues, including performances at the World Series and Nobel Peace Prize Ceremony.
