Wonderful musicians, splendid song choices -- it was lovely to hear the complete versions of songs I thought I knew by heart. Mr. Harnar is a total delight, a wonderful, genuinely warm entertainer with a true legato line in his ballad singing and a knockout smile.
We loved the show. I was happy to hear it was recorded for possible later CD release.

This was a a wondering evening of Cole Porter music. Jeff Harnar puts a lot of care into choosing his songs and was able to capture all the wit and underlying heartache in the Porter lyrics. Harnar's voice has gotten stronger over the years. Thanks to Goldstar for offering this evening.

Description

Jeff Harnar is a New York Cabaret and recording artist. He has twice won the Manhattan Association of Cabaret Award (MAC) as Best Male Vocalist and three times been honored with the BackStage Bistro Award (Newcomer, Male Vocalist, Best Show). Jeff has performed his one-man show at Carnegie's Weill Recital Hall and has brought his shows to every major American city, Europe (Paris and Oslo) and the high seas (QE2, Crystal, Celebrity, among others).

In collaboration with musical director Alex Rybeck and director Sara Louise Lazarus, Jeff has created several "theme" shows that have been seen in New York at the Algonquin Hotel, Rainbow & Stars, The Russian Tea Room, Town Hall and the Firebird cafe.

The 1959 Broadway Songbook, one of these acclaimed shows, has been recorded live on CD (Original Cast Records) and broadcast on PBS. Because of You: Fifties Gold, Jeff's second solo recording, is a collection of pop classics from the songbooks of Tony Bennett, Nat "King" Cole, Doris Day, Johnny Mathis and Johnny Ray.

Jeff returned to the Firebird Cafe with Sammy Cahn All the Way, directed by Barry Kleinbort, which enjoyed a sold-out run. Jeff recently co-starred with KT Sullivan in the 2006 MAC Award-winning revue A Marvelous Party, a Noel Coward celebration.

On the road, Jeff has opened for the McGuire Sisters and toured nationally as the singing narrator of Gershwin on Ice starring Dorothy Hamill. That show aired as a special presentation of the A&E Network. Other television credits include "CBS This Morning," "The Charles Grodin Show" and a PBS holiday concert co-starring KT Sullivan.

Jeff can also be seen performing with Broadway star Shauna Hicks in The Mickey & Judy Show, most recently at London's Pizza on the Park and with the San Diego Symphony. A CD of The Mickey & Judy Show is currently available on the Harbinger Records label through Original Cast Records.
