I thoroughly enjoyed Jenna Esposito's performance. She has a powerful voice and her selection of songs mirrored my musical taste. You can't go wrong with American popular standards. Ms. Esposito was backed by outstanding musicians, who undoubtedly love their profession. The Metropolitan Room created an intimate atmosphere and Ms. Esposito made it a point to talk with attendees following the performance. I applaud her, her musicians and the staff of the Metropolitan Room. I would definitely return.Written on Oct 11 2008

Description

Fresh off the tails of her recent CD release, Jenna Esposito returns to the Metropolitan Room with an all-new show, “Takin’ A Chance On Love.” Featuring a wide selection of (you guessed it!) love songs, from a wide variety of writers, including Harold Arlen, the Gershwins, Jerome Kern, Kander & Ebb, and Leonard Cohen, the show is a musical journey through the course of a romance.

Jenna made her NYC cabaret debut in August, 2004 and has since performed shows at the Duplex, Danny’s Skylight Room, the Laurie Beechman Theatre, and the Metropolitan Room. Her shows “A Hint of Rosemary: The Songs of Rosemary Clooney,” “SMOOCH!” and “I Hate Men: Songs for the Scorned” have all received critical acclaim. Jenna released her debut CD, “13 Men…and Me!” in October, and has been celebrating that release with a highly-applauded show featuring live performances of the entire CD! In January, 2007 “I Hate Men: Songs for the Scorned” was named one of the 12 best cabaret shows of 2006 by John Hoglund of www.theaterscene.net. Jenna has already begun work on her second CD, slated for release in the fall of 2008.
