    More Information

A native of Miami, Johnny Rodgers is an award-winning singer-songwriter-pianist whose original songs are influenced by the Beatles, Billy Joel, James Taylor, Sting, Paul Simon and John Mayer. In 2002, Rodgers earned both a Back Stage Bistro Award for Outstanding New York Debut and a MAC Award for Best Male New York Debut. Last year, he won the ASCAP Foundation Song Writer Award and 15th Annual Billboard World Song Contest in the Americana/Folk category for his song, “Home to Mendocino.” Several years ago, Liza Minnelli discovered Rodgers and brought him on as a pianist and guest performer on her world tours, and he recently debuted on Broadway in Liza’s at the Palace. Rodgers has also shared the stage with such luminaries as Paul McCartney, Michael Feinstein, Stephen Schwartz, Ann Hampton Callaway, Dave Koz and Chrissie Hynde of the Pretenders. In 2003, Rodgers formed the Johnny Rodgers Band (Brian Glassman on bass, Danny Mallon on drums, and Joe Ravo on guitar) and since have performed at centers across the US the likes of Los Angeles Ford Amphitheatre, Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, the premiere New York City clubs; Arturo Sandoval’s and other Miami Beach jazz clubs; and many festivals like Festival Miami at the University of Miami. Two years after their formation, the Band released their debut CD, the heart and soul-infused Box of Photographs. In 2008, they released two EPS: the indie-pop Bound Together, featuring a new Christmas song; and Let’s Make a Date, including a big-band swing duet between Rodgers and Minnelli.
