The best tassel-swingers in the country are invited to battle it out for a shot at the coveted title of Burlesque Idol. Already a hit in the UK and Australia, this new live competition show comes to New York, ready to provide an exciting, elegant evening of adult entertainment. A comedian host introduces the three-judge panel, who range from famous burlesque queens to promoters and producers. Then the contestants strut their stuff, each putting their own spin on the art of striptease, with gimmicks ranging from fire-breathing to ballet and beyond. Every admission comes with a ballot so you can vote for your favorite, and every show kicks off with a burlesque lesson -- just in case you want to come back and compete. Learn More

The show was funny, but the theatre was extremely overcrowded. I understand the 2 drinks per person minimum limit, but was very dissapointed at being charged $9 for a bottle of domestic beer. Two bottles for $18... Outrageous!

The show is written by Eric Kornfeld, most known for writing Bette Midler’s Vegas extravaganza and Jeffrey Jackson, playwright of the award-winning Two Point Oh! and Frankenstein. Music is by Michaelangelo Sosnowitz, who has written scores for HBO, VH1, PBS and countless films and commercials.
