Macbeth: Shakespeare's Bloody Tragedy
A bloodthirsty cycle of corruption and betrayal is set in motion when the popular King Duncan of Scotland is murdered by Macbeth, his trusted kinsman and friend. Macbeth achieves the power he believes he deserves, but the price is high. He must contend with his conscience, his ambitious wife and the influence of the mysterious witches whose prophecies guide him toward his destiny, where he discovers that power achieved by bloodshed can only be maintained by more bloodshed. William Shakespeare's tragic masterpiece provides a glimpse into the human heart, with the "black and deep desires" that are often found in even the best of men and women. A mere word, a glance from a stranger, or an offer one can't refuse can set off a chain of events leading to one's destruction. Albert Blake directs.
