Description

“First-rate singing actor” (New York Times) Michael Winther (Mamma Mia, 1776, Songs From An Unmade Bed -- 2006 Drama Desk Nominee) returns to the Metropolitan Room after last seasons sold-out, critically acclaimed set of new theater music with “Love Songs” – a romantic evening of music focusing on well-known standards, as well as more contemporary “classic” popular songs.

This time, Winther teams up with the dynamic, acclaimed jazz pianist, Dan Tepfer (2006 Montreux Jazz Festival; American Pianist’s Association 2007-2009 Cole Porter Fellow in Jazz) for a unique, eclectic evening that explores the intersection between jazz improvisation, musical theatre and popular music.
