It was such a wonderful evening even though the passengers were afraid it was going to rain, it didn't and once the storm passed, we had the most beautiful relaxing evening. I would encourage it for couples or for groups of friends.Written on May 25 2009
The staff was fabulous! They offered reassurance that we were safe because of the weather. They were very kind and efficient.
Fortunately, they had blankets because it did get cold!
Thanks for offering this as an event.

It was a great little something to do on a city night. Much more comfortable than I had imagined on an outdoor boat deck and though there were only a few drinks sparsely served, it was the perfect quantity - I even turned one down towards the end. As with almost any water trip it gets COLD. Don't let this ruin your night - wear something heavy you can take off if needed. Crew was super friendly!Written on May 19 2009

Description
Experience New York City lights like you never have on this sail past the bright and beautiful borough of Manhattan.
Climbing aboard Adirondack or Imagine, Classic Harbor Lines' 80-foot wooden pilot schooners, you will quickly forget the mayhem and noise of Manhattan street life as the colors before you paint a picture of the most famous city in the world. You'll take in the famous Manhattan skyline as it was meant to be seen -- from the water. You will also enjoy spectacular views of Ellis Island, the Statue of Liberty and the Brooklyn Bridge. The fastest resident sail vessels in the New York Harbor are the Schooners Adirondack and Imagine. They held the record finishes in the Chesapeake Bay Schooner Race for 14 consecutive seasons (1994 - 2007). Though they are light and lively sailing vessels, they are also quite comfortable, with ample deck space and seating for up to 49. They were built and designed for taking groups of people on spectacular sightsailing adventures by Scarano Boatbuilding of Albany, NY. They are operated by Coast Guard certified captains and extremely friendly and talented crew.
About the Ticket Supplier: Classic Harbor Line LLC
Built in 1994 in the Scarano Boat Building of Albany, New York, the Schooner Adirondack is an 80-foot wooden replica of a classic turn-of-the-century pilot schooner.
Heading south from Chelsea Piers and down the Hudson River to Battery Park, the Schooner Adirondack passes by Ellis Island and sails out to the Statue of Liberty. Wind and time permitting, she will head toward Governor's Island, breeze by the Financial District and the Brooklyn Bridge on the East River.
The 1920s-style motor yacht "Manhattan," also built by Scarano Boat Building, is brand new to the New York City harbor as of spring 2006. This 80-foot, wood-trimmed, Gilded Era commuter yacht runs full circumnavigations of Manhattan, dinner cruises and sunset cruises, and is available for private charter.
