Maria Schneider is one of the most innovative composers and arrangers in jazz today. The Minnesota native is known for her lyrical and evocative compositions, heavily influenced by classical, Spanish and Brazilian music. Schneider's 2004 album Concert in the Garden was the first Grammy Award-winning recording sold exclusively via the Internet, and also earned her awards from Down Beat and the Jazz Journalists Association. Her latest album Winter Morning Walks, recorded with soprano Dawn Upshaw and two chamber orchestras, won her a 2014 Grammy. In this concert, she'll lead her own 17-piece jazz orchestra, which she formed in 1993. Learn More
