Kids Make Their Own Instruments and Perform with Them in Percussion People
The Players Theatre, At Minetta Ln (115 MacDougal Street New York City, NY 10012)
With help from the members of Percussion People, children of all ages can create their own instruments while learning about percussion instruments of all types -- bongos, triangles, marimbas, tambourines, djembe drums and more. The Percussion People then perform a concert full of toe-tapping, pulsing rhythms. Kids can join in the fun using their own creations, which they're free to take home after the show. Featured on the CBS Early Morning Show and as a weekend pick by Time Out New York Kids, Percussion People is a perfect opportunity for young audiences to learn and experience live music.

While Percussion People is billed as a family event I can honestly say that anyone - no matter what their age from 3 to 103 would enjoy this show. The musicians are first-rate, the music is exciting and you will learn things you never knew you didn't know about percussion!! It's not just drums baby!!Written on Jun 06 2011

The "workshop" is kids putting un-sticky stickers on a toilet roll with some beans inside. The performance is non-child oriented.My only good thing to say about this is that the musicians were good, but it was not engaging for either adults and children. Just another organization taking money from parents with no satisfaction provided.Written on Mar 06 2012
