Description

A seven-time Grammy Award-nominated R&B singer and record producer, Joe Thomas (known to many simply as "Joe") burst onto the scene with his 1997 platinum album All That I Am. The disc reached No. 13 on the Billboard 200 album chart and No. 4 on the R&B chart, featuring "All the Things Your Man Won't Do" and "Don't Wanna Be a Player." Joe's next album, My Name Is Joe (2000), became his most successful to date, reaching the top of the R&B albums chart and No. 2 on the Billboard 200, and eventually selling more than three million copies. The album was bolstered by the success of the lead single "I Wanna Know" and the hit track "Stutter," which hit No. 1 on both the Billboard Hot 100 and R&B/Hip-Hop Tracks chart.

Joe's 2001 album Better Days featured two successful singles, "Let's Stay Home Tonight" and "What If A Woman." He recruited high-profile talent for his 2003 effort And Then..., which featured performances by R-Kelly and G-Unit. After releasing Ain't Nothin' Like Me on the Jive label in 2007, he left the big label scene and released his first independent disc, Joe Thomas, New Man (2008), in conjunction with his longtime manager Kedar Massenberg's label, Kedar Entertainment. The album debuted in the Top 10, reaching No. 1 on the Billboard Top Independent Albums chart and No. 3 on Billboard's R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.

2009 saw Joe continue his streak of independent releases with Signature. The album reached No. 1 on the Billboard Top Independent Albums chart and was voted the No. 1 R&B Album of the Year on iTunes in 2009. The single "Worst Case Scenario" was the No. 1 most-added song on Urban Adult radio in 2010. With his latest album, 2011's The Good, the Bad, the Sexy, the man once nicknamed "the Casanova crooner" by Hip-Hop Soul magazine proves that he has lost none of his spunk or flavor. If anything, this dude has simply gotten better with time.
