I had a very bad experience at this event, however, it had nothing to do with the actual exhibition. This is my second time at this museum, and the exhibition is what brought me back for more. The display items are quirky and entertaining and the museum even has some impressive possessions (e.g. a lock of Abraham Lincoln's hair). The rub came when I got to the Laser Race. The attendant informed me that my purchase did not include the Laser Race, and that I had to pay $4.95 each for me and my daughter to enter. I informed that my Purchase Confirmation receipt explicitly reads that Laser Race is included. The attendant did not budge, and I asked for a supervisor.

The supervisor supported the attendant and explained entry into Laser Race is a separate purchase. I suggested the Supervisor accompany me to the Front Desk, where he could read the Confirmation Receipt, however, he declined. The supervisor never did explain WHY he could not accompany me to the Front Desk, and simply walked off.

I returned to the Front Desk in an attempt to get the Confirmation Page to show to the Laser Race clerk and supervisor. The front desk attendant said she could not release the Confirmation Page because she needed it for her records. She also did not offer any assistance.

I ended up engaging in a verbal back and forth with the Lacer Race attendant and her supervisor until the Laser Race attendant relented, and let me in. However, the staff never conceded that I was correct, and didn't bother to confirm the veracity of my claim by looking at the Confirmation Page. It was obvious the Laser Race attendant was annoyed, and that the staff let me in simply to get rid of me.

The experience was humiliating and could have been avoided by the supervisor simply going to the Front Desk to view the Confirmation Page. Alternately, the Fonrt Desk clerk could have accompanied me to the Laser Race booth to confirm the Lacer Race was included with my ticket.

GOLDSTAR responded immediately to my complaint email and called Ripley's on my behalf. They also gave me a credit. GOLDSTAR was extremely responsive and made a horrible situation less painful. KUDOS to Goldstar for their professionalism.
