Highline Ballroom welcomes singer-songwriter David Johansen to the stage. Johansen's newest album, Dancing Backward in High Heels (2011), truly represents a retrospective on his entire music career, which has been hugely varied. From the power-pop sound of the '60s, to his time with the protopunk band the New York Dolls in the 1970s, to the jazz- and R&B-tinged sounds of his work under the pseudonym Buster Poindexter in the '80s, to his foray into country blues in the '90s, and back to his recent collaboration with the Dolls once again, Johansen is truly a multifaceted entertainer. He also currently hosts David Johansen's Mansion of Fun, a weekly radio show on Sirius. Learn More

I had no idea what I was getting myself into but I was pleasantly surprised. My 2 friends and I were so taken back by the performances by each and every artist (especially boy band dream) that it was all we talked about for the entire night and the morning after. These performances weren't not only inspiring but captivating. The trip was well worth it.
