We had a terrific time although it started raining the minute that we boarded the sailboat. We had prepared for bad weather so we were ok; but, what do some people think about being there without even having jackets?? The captain and crew did everything to make our evening as enjoyable as possible. The 2 lady crew members made a point of spending a little bit of time with as many guests as possible. We had guests from out of state with us and this event was the highlight of their of their weekend.Written on Sep 28 2009

What a wonderful way to spend an afternoon! The crew was outstanding, the the complementary wine, beer and softdrinks was a nice touch! The boat passed Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty several times, and it seemed like we were on a private yacht! We had friends in from Mexico and they were totally awed by the experience! Tip: Make sure you wear sneakers or boat shoes. No flip flops or heels. This is an amazing vintage sailing yacht with wood decks.Written on May 26 2011

The crew of the Shearwater are very friendly and a lot of fun. I went sailing with them on a weekday afternoon in early May, and there was just 2 of us on the boat (plus the crew). I hear it gets much more crowded (up to 40 passengers) on evening and weekend sails as the weather gets better. There is beer, wine, champagne, soda, etc...and you can drink as much as you want - it's included!!Written on May 07 2009
I will definitely be returning with some friends next time. As this was a fun and relaxing way to spend the afternoon.
