It was lots of fun. The Allen Room is gorgeous. The entertainers from Minnesota were terrific. i really enjoyed the evening.

This was an amazing event. I look forward to seeing them again when they return to New York.

The venue was phenomenal; the views were fantastic and the acoustics were just great. I loved every minute of the show.

This program contains traditional spirituals and works by Rev. F.C. Barnes, Calvin Bridges, F. Darnell Davis, Miles Davis, Anders Edenroth, Kirk Franklin, Brenden Graham, Francis Scott Key, Rolf Loveland, Patricia McKernon, Reginald Pretorius, Rogers and Hart, J.D. Walter and George David Weiss.

Darcy Reese is the producer and director of Shakin' the Rafters. In her 21st year of teaching at Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls, Minnesota, she has brought her choirs to New York City seven times to perform in various venues throughout the city including Carnegie Hall, St. John The Divine and St. Patrick's Cathedral. She is particularly interested in exploring cultural diversity issues and has produced Never Again, based on a Jewish theme; Looking Back to Move Forward, based on an African-American theme and Woven Voices, Woven Threads, based on Jewish, Native American and African-American themes. These shows have been taken to New York City, Virginia, Washington DC, Minneapolis and Chicago. Reese was named the 2002 Minnesota Music Educator of the year.

About The Allen Room at Jazz at Lincoln Center:

The 600-seat Allen Room is a variable-use space that takes advantage of the expansive view of Central Park below, with the placement of one high glass wall situated behind the performers. In the evening, car lights reflecting off the glass from the street below are coupled with sounds of jazz to provide a unique portrait of New York City's nightlife.
