Singer-Songwriter Ben Taylor Plays Songs of Love Benefit
Ben Taylor's decision to go into his family's business -- music -- just might have been influenced by his parents, who are none other than legendary folk-rock singer-songwriters James Taylor and Carly Simon. He's lived up to the family standard, crafting a sound that owes a lot to his mom and dad but has its own thing going on as well. In addition to writing his own music, including the tracks on his 2012 album Listening
, Taylor works with the Songs of Love Foundation, which provides personalized songs for children and teens facing tough medical, physical and emotional challenges. For this benefit performance, Taylor will play his tunes and use the audience as a chorus for a live recording of a "song of love" by Taylor. The evening's honoree, New York rock radio personality Ken Dashow of Q104, will host the show.
